More about Ben...

I like most hunters started hunting just about the time I could walk. My hunting days began in
Prince Edward County with my Grand Father and Uncle teaching my 2 other brothers and myself the tricks of the trade shooting small birds, squirrels and on a really good day of hunting a Raccoon! Time flew by and the fire that burns deep inside most hunters turned into a raging inferno for me! I found myself with a hunting license, a car, and a book full of crafty excuses for missing class and sports practice. I will never forget the day I was hauled into the office and sat down by my rugby coach who was very upset over the fact i missed the previous days practice (which I might add was a very important one), my response, "It was opening day of turkey season and I wouldn't miss it for the pope himself!" Needless to say the comment was not appreciated by my coach who suspended me for 2 games, I didn't mind though because that opening morning I shot a 23lb tom with a 10 inche beard!

High School wrapped up and it was on to college. I quickly realized the direction I needed to head if somehow i was going to do this hunting thing EVERYDAY.  2 years of hunting and attending a post secondary education I was ready to start my business! My dream was always to start my own hunting and fishing store however our area was already well serviced and by having to work at the store practically 24/7 during hunting season that didn't really seam appealing. I kept my noise to the ground and eventually sniffed out an opportunity, Shadowear.

As you can tell my favourite thing to hunt is turkey's, whitetails are a VERY close second however my DREAM hunt is in Colorado with my Hoyt bow chasing a bugling Elk. In my mind it's the true hybrid of a turkey and whitetail!

Shadowear is my lifelong dream come true and although it's been full of it's ups and downs it gives me the opportunity to travel all around North America and share hunting stories with my kind of people, HUNTERS!

Everyday I count my blessings for this opporunity and will remain focused on what's important, supporting fellow hunters anyway I can and commiting myself to this great sport we all love and enjoy...

Ben Harvey, President and CEO of Shadowear
